This Tee was inspired by the luxurious yarn and its beautiful soft sheen. Ziggy is a top down construction with a raw edge neckline and a very easy to memorize zig zag lace pattern, meant to be worn with 6 – 8 inches / 15 – 20 cm of positive ease. I wanted to keep this design very minimal to let the beauty of the yarn shine through. This will be my go-to everyday tee during the warm summer months! - Andrea
YARN
Louise Robert Design: Algua Marina - 3 (3, 4, 4, 5, 5) skeins.
NEEDLES:3.75mm (US#5) circulars of at least 75 cm (30”) and preferred needles for small circumference knitting (or size needed to obtain gauge).
GAUGE: 24sts and 30 rows = 10 cm in Stockinette Stitch after blocking (please refer to the important note below)
ATTENTION : Fabrics knitted with a silk yarn tend to stretch a lot when wet. Therefore it is imperative to check your gauge after washing / blocking. Also, if you hesitate between two sizes, opt for the smaller one.
I am in the process of making this tee right now. I'd say I'm almost 2/3 finished.
The pattern does make a few assumptions with the directions, but I got great help from the knitting teacher at Biscotti. I also bought the yarn the designer used and it is such a pleasure to work with. I can hardly wait until I'm finished just to wear this garment.
