While working on this shawl, I remembered a specific project from my studies in art history and this is how the name of Triptyque (french word for triptych) came to mind.
On Wikipedia, a triptych is defined by something composed or presented in three parts or sections. In the field of the fine arts, the triptych is defined as "a work of art (usually a panel painting) that is divided into three sections, or three carved panels that are hinged together and can be folded shut or displayed open". The shawl looks beautiful and intriguing, but I have not had a chance to make it yet.
While I haven't started this yet, the instructions seem to be laid out very well. I like a pattern that holds a bit of a challenge to it without the instructions being confusing. This pattern hits both points for me. I've seen this pattern and sample in my local yarn store which is why I decided to buy the pattern.
Excellent instructions: clearly written, easy to follow. I am using Malabrigo combinations, and it's coming out very well.
The yarn from Bisco the is so lovely to work, I know I will enjoy using it. The patterns are also fab!
I love the different patterns in the shawl and cannot wait to start knitting it!
