Oakleigh Socks | Knitting pattern and knitting kits
This beautiful design, created by Jill Tamminen, showcases a delightful textured stitch pattern and a Sisu Heel. Originally designed for the Biscotte Mystery Sock Club - January 2023. Now you have the option to purchase the pattern by itself or the knitting kit, which includes both the yarn and pattern required to knit this project.
Here is what you need to knit this project:
- The Oakleign socks knitting pattern (sent as a PDF numeric file) - The pattern is included when you purchase a kit.
- Louise Robert Collection – SUPER SOCK [75% merino wool sw, 25% nylon; 400 m par 100 g] - 1 skein - shown in an exclusive color
To complete this knitting project, you will require these additional accessories along with the knitting kit:
- Circular needle needle of 2.25mm (US #1) and 2.5mm (US #1.5) - or the size required to obtain the gauge
- Tapestry needle
SIZES AVAILABLE IN THE PATTERN - One Size adult womens’ circumference 16cm; 6.5 in unstretched (foot length is adjustable)
GAUGE: 18 sts & 25 rows = 5 cm /2 in over Stockinette st using larger needles. For best results, be sure to get the gauge.
NOTE: These socks are worked from the cuff down with a Simpler Sisu Heel. You must knit in the round according to the pattern and when arriving to the heel section, separate the stitches to work over half the total amount (if using DPNs, put half of the total amount of stitches on needle #1). Work a series of German Short Rows according to the pattern. Refer to the German Short Rows (GSR) notes at the end of the pattern and you can also view a short video by Jill Taminen aka Knit Sisu
