Les Moutons de Biscotte | Free sock pattern
This sock pattern is a design by Louise Robert originally published in 2012. Les Moutons de Biscotte, which means "Biscotte's sheep" in french, has been knitted hundreds of times since then! Nearly a decade later, the designer of this pattern offers you a reedited version!
This model is worked from the toes up with a short-row heel. The sheep pattern is worked in stranded colorwork which means that the unused yarn follows on the back of the work.
Use two contrasting colors for a neat and beautiful result! ...and be careful not to fall asleep while counting sheep!
IN ADDITION TO THE FREE PATTERN, YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS TO KNIT THESE SOCKS:
- 30 stitches = 10 cm in stranded colorwork on 3 mm (US #2.5)
- 32 stitches = 10 cm in stockinette stitch on 2.5 mm (US #1.5)
This free sock pattern is available in PDF format: add it to your cart and follow every steps to complete your order. A link to download the pattern will appear on the final screen of your order and you will also get this link by email (look into your spams if you can't find it in our inbox). Enjoy!

This cute sheep pattern was easy to understand and follow. Thanks!
See my Ravelry project for my knitting diary knitting these https://www.ravelry.com/projects/JulieLJtoo/les-moutons-de-biscotte
Started with the original 2012 pattern which I had problems with so downloaded the updated pattern. My first pair of toe up socks and my first pair of colourwork socks. Used good quality sock yarns but probably should have gone down a needle size to get a closer knit fabric and socks wearable in shoes/boots.
I met someone that was knitting these and just knew I had to have them too! Thank you
I have not yet made this sock pattern but I absolutely love the design!
