Once again, we are proud to share with your this beautiful design by Andrea Yetman for Biscotte Yarns!
As soon as I seen Biscotte’s Metamorph Yarn I knew I had to make a simple Tee with the main focus being on the beautiful gradient color of the yarn. Featuring a beautiful lace trim, slightly cropped and wide fit with a snug short sleeve. The Metamorphic Tee is an easy, enjoyable knit for all skill levels. Watching the color of this yarn ever so gradually change is pure enjoyment”. - Andrea
In addition to the knitting pattern, you will need the following material to knit this beautiful tee:
- Biscotte Yarns: Bis-sock Metamorph 400m / 435yds / 85% superwash merino wool and 15% nylon.
- Shown in color Organic 4 (4, 6, 6, 6, 8) skeins (If knitting this tee in a solid color the yardage required is: 975 (1075, 1180, 1325, 1480, 1600) yards.
- Main Fabric: 3.75mm (US#5)–Circulars needles of at least 32” (80cm) or straight needles (or size needed to obtain gauge).
- Ribbing: 3.25mm (US#3)–preferred needles for small circumference knitting.
- Stitch holder or scrap yarn
- Stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
GAUGE | 25sts and 30 rows = 10 cm (4”) using larger needles on Stockinette stitch.
SIZES | XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL)
The front and back are worked separately, flat, from the bottom up. The sides are seamed, leaving an opening for the sleeves, and the shoulders are binded off using the 3 Needle Bind Off. Stitches are picked up around the armhole edge and knit in the round. This tee is meant to be worn with 4-10 inches of positive ease around the bust with a fitted sleeve.
How to use the yarn: When you have reached the end of the ball and need to start a new one, pull the yarn from the middle of the ball to continue to knit with the same color you ended off with. For the sleeves, you can choose to knit from any section of the ball that you like. For the sample, almost a full skein was used for the entire back and almost the same for the front. There was a little left over to use for the neckline, keeping the color the same. For the sleeves, the yarn was pulled from the middle of a new ball to start the sleeves off with the same color the top of the tee ended with. A new ball was used for the second sleeve so that the color of the sleeves is the same. There is plenty of yarn left over to knit a pair of matching Metamophic socks!!

I just got the yarn for this, and will be casting it on soon. I'm so excited. This is just the shape, and drape, I was looking for in a tee for Spring!
Absolutely fantastic pattern. Well written. Look forward to starting this soon. Highly recommend
It’s a lovely pattern, but I’m still need to knit it. Thanks so much for asking.
Going very nice
Love this tee, working on it now. Easy to work up and looks so nice.
