Loop Groop Sweater | Free Knitting Pattern

When I saw the loops in this mohair, I immediately thought of a loose and textured top that I would like to wear on chilly evenings.

This model is designed to be worn with positive ease. The width of the sweater is exaggerated so that it falls smoothly on each side of the body.  This model is very easy to knit for beginners!

YARN

• Collection Louise Robert Designs – (A) DK PURE (90% merino sw, 10% silk – 238 m / 115g) shown in Tudors colourway : 3 skeins. (B) BOUCLE MOHAIR (88% kid mohair bouclé, 8.4% wool, 3.6% nylon – 100m / 100g) shown in Traviata colourway : 1 skein.

• Needles of 6.5mm to work flat.
• Needles of 4.5mm to work flat and in the round.

ACCESSORIES

• Tapestry needle
• stitch holder
• scrap yarn

ADULT ONE SIZE – Schematic is available at the end of pattern.

• Sweater width (flat): 64 cm (25¼ po)
• Sweater height (flat) : 37 cm (14½)
• Sleeve height : 9 cm (3½ po)

NOTES : This project is worked in a garter stitch from the bottom up as a large rectangle. In the middle center of the rectangle, stitches are put on hold to create the neck opening, then new stitches are added to finish the work.

Then, the rectangle is folded in half and the sides are assembled using an invisible seam. Stitches are picked up all around the neckline and sleeves to work ribs in the round.
