Knitting Kit - STELLA the Two Face Cat socks
As you probably already know, at Biscotte Yarns we LOVE cats... So the beautiful Cornish Rex named Stella quickly drew our attention on Instagram with her two-colored face."In addition to this rare and impressive phenomenon, we also discovered that Stella doesn't live very far from our dyeing workshop! That was all it took to inspire us this project and introduce you to the beautiful @Stellatwofacecat"- Louise Robert
THIS KNITTING KIT CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS:
- STELLA sock pattern
Biscotte Yarns | Bis-Sock Self-Striping [85% merino sw, 15% nylon, 400g /100g]
- STELLA LEFT (A) – 50g
- STELLA RIGHT (B) – 50g
IN ADDITION TO THE KNITTING KIT, YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING TO KNIT THESE SOCKS
- Circular or DPN needles of 2.5 mm #US –1.5 (or size needed to obtain gauge)
- Waste yarn for the heel setup
- 1 tapestry needle
NOTE: These socks are knitted from the cuff down with an afterthought heel, which means that the heel is worked at the very end. This pattern can be worked with a set of 5 double-pointed needles or on circular needles. For double-pointed needles, please divide half the sts on needles 1 and 2 and the other half of the stitches on the needles 3 and 4.
What great idea, lovely yarn and great pattern
I am totally new to sock knitting. This is literally the second sock pattern I've tried. I ended up knitting most of the sock using 9 inch circulars because that's the most comfortable for me. The video link for the afterthought heel was excellent, I was able to do that with ease. I have to admit I'm pretty much spoiled using this yarn, it truly is the nicest fingering weight yarn I've ever used. Even though I'm new to sock knitting, I've uses LOTS of fingering weight yarn in other projects and Biscotte sock yarn is AMAZING!
The yarn is just so lovely and soft ! I am really enjoying knitting with it.
OMG! I can't get over how soft this yarn is! It's such a joy to knit with! I can't wait to wear them when I get done with them!
