Free scarf pattern Miroir Miroir!
I always like to offer an easy pattern to celebrate the launch of a new base yarn collection! For the Suri Alpaca, I wanted to create a warm and mellow scarf. I decided to play with long stripes in simple garter stitch to keep the focus on the fibers and colors!
As the colored stripes reflect from one side to the other like in a mirror, it reminded me of the Evil Queen looking into her magic mirror to find the reflection of her desires: “Miroir, miroir…” - Louise
In addition to the free pattern, you will need the following material to knit this scarf:
Louise Robert Collection – SURI ALPACA [100% alpaca suri, 218 yds; 210 m / 50 g skein] in the following colors:
- A - Chardon : 1 skein
- B - Absinthe : 1 skein
- C - Van Gogh : 1 skein
Circular needle of 3.75 mm; cable length of 40 in; 100 cm.
GAUGE: 20 stitches = 4 in; 10 cm in garter stitch.
FINAL SIZE:
- Length - 60 in; 150 cm
- Width – 10.75 in; 27.5 cm
NOTES:
This scarf is knitted horizontally in garter stitch and although this project is not worked in the round, I recommand using a circular needles to hold the large amount of stitches.
There is no need to cut the yarn when working the transition from one color to the other: at the beginning of each right side row, knit the first stitch only using both colors (A & B when working the first transition or B & C when working the second transition). The rest of the row is knitted as usual with the right color.
