Faraway Friends Socks | Free Knitting Pattern
Socks lovers will be charmed by this new design by Andrea Yetman offered free of charge, compliments of Biscotte ♥
The inspiration for these socks came to me during the COVID-19 quarantine. Online socializing became a way of staying connected at a distance. I met a dear friend within the knitting community and although we are worlds apart I consider her a very close friend. The 2 colors in the pattern represents 2 friends and the cabled panel repesents how our friendship has come together. It’s incedible how knitting along with my faraway friend has helped me during these unsettling times. I hope these socks will bring you joy, keep you warm and remind you of a special friend. - Andrea
IN ADDITION TO THE FREE PATTERN, YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS TO KNIT THESE SOCKS

SIZE – ONE SIZE
Length of foot: adjustable.
GAUGE: 23sts = 10 cm – 4 inches with two strands held together in stockinette st.
NOTE: These socks are knit from the top down with 2 strands of fingering weight yarn held together double stranded for a marled effect. The cuff, heel and toe are knit in a solid color holding the same color double stranded. The front panel is a very easy, yet engaging pattern made up of 2 columns of twisted stitches on either side of a basic braided cable. Have fun putting 2 colors of yarn together and even mix it up by changing colors throughout as a stash busting project
