Get the Étude sock kit now. This model was presented in March 2021 for the mystery club.
ÉTUDE - noun. a musical composition, usually instrumental, intended mainly for the practice of some point of technique.
This name seems to be appropriate for this design which combines both techniques: stranded colorwork 🎹 & cables 🎻. A classic pattern to practice your skills and perfect your talent, whether musical or not ! ...and why not do it while listening to Chopin's Étude op. 10 no. 3.
The kit includes:
- Etude pattern
- Louise Robert Design SUPER SOCK : 80 (100) g of main color, shown in Parchemin (A)
- Biscotte Yarns BIS-SOCK color Nature (B) : 10 (12) g and color Charbon (C) : 10 (12) g
In addition to the knitting kit, you need the following materials to knit the Étude sock:
- Circular or DPN’s needles of 2.5 mm; US #1.5 (or size needed to obtain gauge)
- Cable needle
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch markers (2) for L/XL size only
You can order only the Étude pattern HERE!
GAUGE : 32 stitches = 10 cm; 4 inches in stockinette stitch.
SIZES : ADULT circumference : Small/Medium (Large/X-Large); foot length is adjustable.
NOTES : This sock design is knitted from the toes up to the ribs. The foot and leg are both featuring a stranded colorwork band depicting a piano keyboard and between the two keyboards, on the leg are "sculpted" two guitars using cables and twisted stitches.
Well written pattern and the guitar is fun to knit. Also, I changed it to a cuff down pattern and it was easy to swap out the direction of the cables. I would make these again
