CANEVAS is the french word for “canvas”. Originally, a canvas was a large fabric made of hemp used mostly for making boat sails. It was also used to make various works: embroidery, tapestry, preparatory drawings. The term "canvas" is derived from the word chanvre (which means hemp in french) and chenevis (from the Latin word cannabis). For me, a canvas is like a blank page: it opens the doors to all possibilities and invites the creative spirit that lives in each one of us! - Louise
