ABOUT BRIGGS & LITTLE 🍁
Briggs & Little Woolen Mills Ltd. is a yarn mill located in York Mills, NB, Canada. To date, the yarn mill has been in operation for 161 years!
The mill has been burned down 4 times and has been rebuilt each time. The most recent fire was in 1994.
The first colors other than white, grey and black were introduced in the 1940's, along with Scarlet, Royal Blue and Paddy Green.
Ward Little has worked in this mill for over 60 years and currently three generations of the Little family are working in the spinning mill.
have a list a mile long for boot socks-- several family members work outdoors in very cold weather, and this thicker wool yarn with nylon to make it last, is awesome! will order more when I'm almost done with this order. Thank you Biscotte!
I love Tuffy for a heavy boot sock. It's warm and durable. My husband loves the socks I made him using the Fisherman's Boot Sock pattern.
I haven't machine washed the socks, yet. I soak, rinse, and air dry. When I make a pair for myself, I'll try machine washing them.
Tuffy yarn from Briggs and Little is great to knit up thick, warm winter socks or in my case Elizabeth Zimmermann's ADD-A-Booties. This yarn is the right thickness, I don't have to double or even triple sock yarn to get the thickness I want. I just have to begin to knit wonderfully warm winter items.
Really great yarn for socks that wear well! Also, I got yarn quickly, thank you!
