Free sock pattern | Luoto
Here is the Luoto pattern designated by Joanna Ignatus for the March 2022 mystery sock club!!! Luoto represents a pattern, 2 versions!!!
Whether you choose the toes-up or cuff-down version to work these socks, knitting this pattern is always fun and games when using PatricKnits self-striping yarns!
In addition to the pattern, you need the following materials to knit the Luoto Sock pattern :
YARNS :
- Biscotte yarns - BIS-SOCK , (85% Merino SW and 15% Nylon, 400 m/437 yds per 100 g). The sample socks were knitted with colorway Jade Vine.
NEEDLES & NOTIONS
- 2.75 mm/ US 2 circular needle (80 cm/ 32 inches long or longer) or size needed to obtain the gauge.
- Markers
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
SIZES : S (56 sts), M (64 sts) and L (72 sts)
GAUGE : 36 sts x 48 rows = 10x10 cm/ 4x4 inches in stockinette stitch after blocking
NOTES : The pattern is written for magic loop method but can easily be modified for double pointed needles. Needle A refers to instep stitches and needle B to sole stitches.
There are 2 versions of the instructions: the first one is to make the socks cuff down and the second one is the toe up version.
