"I wrote this pattern in 2015 during our participation at the Stitches show in Chicago. This event was held at the Palmer House Hotel, where we were also staying.
I really liked the look and rich history of the Palmer House and since I designed this pattern there, that's what inspired the name of this pattern". - Louise Robert
IN ADDITION TO THE FREE KNITTING PATTERN, YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING MATERIAL TO KNIT THE PALMER HOUSE SHAWL:
- Biscotte Yarns - ALBUS [50% merino, 50% silk - 150m/100g] : 3 skeins illustrated in Pruneau color
- circular needles of 7 mm (or the size required to obtain the gauge)
- 4 stitch markers
GAUGE: 12 sts = 10 cm garter stitch
FINAL SIZE (width x height) = 160 cm x 40 cm
This pattern is knitted in garter stitch and finished in ribbing, gradually increasing 4 stitches on every right side rows. The increases in the center of the shawl are positioned to create an angle that distinguishes this pattern from traditional triangular shawls.
