This hand-dyed artisanal yarn is no ordinary knitting yarn: the designer behind the knitting patterns Louise Robert Design meticulously created this beautiful collection.

It's by studying the color pallets that represent her life and career over the years that designer Louise Robert was able to imagine all of the variety available in these hand-dyed artisanal yarns.

Bluenose was a fishing and racing gaff rig schooner built in 1921 in Nova Scotia which became a important icon for Nova Scotia and a Canadian symbol. Nicknamed the "Queen of the North Atlantic", this gaff was later commemorated in 1963 by a replica, Bluenose II. As a child, I had the chance to visit the Bluenose II during a trip to Nova Scotia. I was so impressed by the sea and this beautiful ship that this visit filled my childhood imagination for a long time. - π‘³π’π’–π’Šπ’”π’†

Softest Yarn Ever !

Truly, the softest yarn I have ever knit with (50+ years knitting) ! Yet, extremely strong and durable, due to the silk. Rather like knitting with a spider web ! My only personal problem is, since I do not normally watch what I am knitting ~ able to knit whilst reading a book or in the dark watching a movie ~ I find I need to keep an eye on needle placement into each stitch since it is so utterly thin ~ I do not trust myself to feel the next stitch with fingers as I am easily able to do with thicker yarns. Sigh ~ what price beauty ! I guess it means I may have to just go a bit slower than I normally would. The color is different than I expected: I -thought there would be more purple-ish hues. Gorgeous anyway ~ looks rather like smoke. Definetely reccomend using the size 8 needles to allow for the loft.
