Andrea Yetman charms us once again with her beautiful design! Here is her latest sweater pattern, Twist of Fade, created especially for Biscotte Yarns!

This is my ideal everyday cozy pullover! It has all of my favorite characteristics; A comfortable, loose body with a boat neck, drop shoulder and Twisted Rib. To take this drop sleeve pullover from ordinary to extraordinary, I decided to knit it in Reverse Stockinette and fade it with some of my favorite Biscotte colors! Knit in one color or faded with speckles this will be a favorite for years to come! - Andrea

In addition to the free pattern, you will need the following material to knit this sweater:

YARN

Biscotte Yarns: DK Pure 238m / 260yds / 90% Merino Superwash and 10% Silk.

Sample uses:

  • DK Pure in Kalmata - 2 (2, 2, 3, 3, 3) skeins.
  • DK Pure Speckled in Green Gables - 2 (2, 2, 3, 3, 3) skeins.
  • DK Pure Speckled in Cozumel - 2 (2, 2, 3, 3, 3) skeins.

NEEDLES

  • Main Fabric: 4mm (US#6)– Circulars needles of at least 32” (80cm) and DPN’s (or size needed to obtain gauge).
  • Ribbing: 3.5mm (US#4)–Circulars 14” (35.5cm) for neckline & DPN’s.

NOTIONS

GAUGE 24sts and 30 rows = 10 cm (4”) using larger needles on Stockinette stitch.

SIZES: XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL)

PATTERN NOTES

This sweater is knit seamless in Reverse Stockinette from the bottom up with approx 6 inches; 18cm of positive ease for the body with no or approximately 1 inch; 2.5 cm negative ease at the bottom ribbed hem. There are quite a few increases made on the last row of the hem so that the body is loose fitting with fitted hem. The decreases for the arm are made on the first row of the cuff and the upper front and the back are worked the same.

To fade your colors, just alternate your current color with the next color of choice for about 14 rounds. You will then drop off the first color where you will knit only with the second color and so on! When you’ve decided how many colors you want to knit with, determine your desired length in total from top to bottom and divide your colors accordingly. I highly recommend alternating skeins of the same color to avoid any pooling that may happen with hand-dyed yarns. You can choose to fade with as many colors as you like. Step outside the box and let your creative juices flow!
