This hand-dyed artisanal yarn is no ordinary knitting yarn: the designer behind the knitting patterns Louise Robert Design meticulously created this beautiful collection.

It's by studying the color pallets that represent her life and career over the years that designer Louise Robert was able to imagine all of the variety available in these hand-dyed artisanal yarns.

COBALT The first cobalt blue was discovered by heating cobalt salts mixed with alumina by a chemist in 1802. His aim was to produce a blue comparable to the natural ultramarine, an extremely expensive color obtained from lapis lazuli. Van Gogh was a fervent admirer of the cobalt blue, as can be seen in his painting from 1888, Starry Night. He expressed this interest in a correspondence a few years before painting this work: "Cobalt is a divine color, there is nothing so beautiful to create space around objects".. - Louise

Ah-mazing YARN & COLOR

It was like “buttah”. Gliding effortlessly through my hands as yarnovers were made and loops were created. The colors surprised the eye with the different hues creating their own magic. This colorway was absolutely delightful to see in the product🧶

This Irish Girl is in love!

I originally purchased this yarn for another project but changed my mind, and I am so glad I did! I just finished the first of what will be two throw pillow covers to go with my white and blue living room furniture. Irish Girl is the perfect color and feel for the pillow. No knots anywhere in the two skeins I used. Some dye released in wet blocking before I seamed the sides, but color remained glorious! I am very pleased with this yarn!

Beautiful Yarn Makes a Cozy Cowl!

I found this yarn to be a light, soft, beautifully dyed worsted weight wool that was a pleasure to knit. I had planned to take it home after a month-long stay in Québec City, but I couldn't resist knitting something right away. As mid-October was a bit chilly for this California girl, I cast-on for a cowl I could use immediately. A simple K4, P1 pattern repeated in the round and a bit of Kitchener stitch to seam it together and I had an infinity cowl I wore right away. It's gorgeous, warm, and I love it. I will be ordering more of this yarn for future projects!
