This sweater by Louise Robert Design is knitted with two strands of Suri Alpaca held together. Since the yarn is doubled, this pullover is quick to knit with larger needles and is perfect for exploring the palette of Suri Alpaca and the effect of the color blending.

The name of this design was inspired by the V shape that repeats on the body and sleeves. So what could be better than a name that starts with a V and means "victory" for this beautiful and colorful sweater?

In this pattern, I tell you the total amount of yarn required to make it but won't give specific instructions on when and where to change colors. So instead, I'll advise you on how to use the yarns so you will have fun creating your rainbow with your favorite colors and the number of colors you want.

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner / Intermediate

IN ADDITION TO THIS KNITTING PATTERN, YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING MATERIAL TO KNIT THIS PULL

YARN

  • Louise Robert Collection - SURI ALPACA [100% Suri Alpaca, 210 meters / 50g skein]. The model is shown in the following colors :
    • Loch
    • Van Gogh
    • Canevas
    • Marie-Antoinette
    • Waterhouse
    • Music of the Night

You will need a total of 4 (5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8) skeins of assorted colors (please refer to the notes below for more info)

HOW TO USE THE YARN

''There is no right or wrong way to use the colors in this sweater :) The important is to have fun! The following notes are just a guide to make your work easier.

If you want all ribbing to be the same color, consider setting aside 1 to 2 skeins exclusively for ribbing. To create a gradient effect, I knitted a few rows with two strands of the same color, and when I was tired of that color, I cut one of the two strands and joined a strand of new color. Then, after a few rows of this blend, I cut the remaining strand of the old color, join a second strand of the new color… and so on!

When you want to knit with two yarns of the same color, you can use the outer and inner ends of the same ball (so you should avoid winding the yarn into a ball and favor winders that will produce a "cake").

A scale is strongly suggested if you want the colors of your sweater to be identical on both sides of the body and sleeves. A kitchen scale will do 😉 You won't need to use it to get started; I’ll tell you when you need it in the instructions.'' -Louise Robert
