GAUGE

16 stitches = 10 cm worked in the round and in stockinette stitch.

FINAL SIZE

100 cm x 100 cm (39 ½ in. x 39 ½ in.)

NOTE

This blanket is knitted from the center up, increasing by 4 stitches every round to finish and bind off at the perimeter.

At the end of round 2, you must join the stitches to work in the round. At the beginning of the project, use your favourite method for working in the round on a small circumference (double-pointed needles or the "magic loop" technique).

As the number of stitches increases with every round, if you opt for double-pointed needles, you'll need to change to circular needles along the way to cope with the growing number of stitches.

The blanket is knitted in large stripes that alternate between holding the main colour (MC) and TAMA together and using MC alone. These stripes are separated by three rounds of contrasting colour (CC). You can choose to cut the MC between each stripe, or you can tuck the MC under the CC at the start of these rounds to avoid cutting the yarn every time.
