Cactus Flower Socks | Knitting Pattern and Optional Kit

THE KNITTING KIT INCLUDE

• The Cactus Flower Socks knitting pattern (sent as a digital PDF format) - The pattern is included when you purchase a kit.
• BISCOTTE YARNS - BIS-SOCK [85% merino wool sw, 15% nylon; 400 m per 100 g] - 1 SKEIN - in the self-striping colorway Cactus Flower

IN ADDITION TO THIS KNITTING KIT, YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING MATERIAL

• DPN or circular needles (using magic loop) of 2.5 mm (US 1.5) - or size required to obtain the gauge.
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch markers (1)

SIZES - ADULT

Adult one size - Foot is adjustable

GAUGE

32 stitches = 10 cm (4") in Stockinette Stitch.

NOTE

These socks are worked from the toe up, with a stitch pattern above the foot and around the leg. To cast-on the stitches, I suggest an "alternative toes-up assembly" method that you can find on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/r-mhv0n5vs8 The technique proposed for knitting the heel was popularized in 2006 on the blog fleegleblog.blogspot.com, hence the name given to this heel, the "Fleegle heel". The Cactus Flowers stitch pattern is available as a chart only and consists of multiples of 24 stitches, modified to fit the 36 stitches above the foot. Once the foot is complete, repeat the 24-stitch pattern around the leg. Please read the chart accordingly. The stitch pattern is available as a chart, and the written instructions can also be found at the end of the pattern.
