Nicky Epstein is an incredibly talented knitting designer and author of several books on knitting. She is particularly well-known for her unique combinations of knitting stitches and her use of colorful patterns in her sweaters, often featuring applique of separately knitted motifs. 

Her exceptional work was awarded by the National NeedleArts Association in 2005, and in 2006, a retrospective fashion show at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City featured her creations.
